What is a website's purpose?
Solution
Every website needs to have a clear purpose and goals to achieve, having a website for the mere online presence does not work and in some cases will hurt the business.
You need to ask yourself
What's the Purpose of my /our website???
How many visitors / users am I getting ?
What ACTION do I want my site user or visitor to take?
Let's Look at the he facts
“Hits” or “Traffic” means nothing (i.e., if you do not know what to do or how to deal with your site's visitors (prospect customers). ”Hits” or “Traffic” will be irrelevant; in fact, why would you want to draw visitors to a site that is not performing?
The fact is people DON'T care about your website as much as they don't for any other site; there are more than 650 million active sites and counting (so how can you make them care?)
Can I Stop paying the online ignorance tax? Let's face it Nobody knows everything - that is a FACT! even if your web designer, your friend or your IT department have a different opinion. Most designers (especially in the Middle East) design for web 1.0 or mostly 1.5, and those who have web 2.0 are not using it properly (i.e. no proper interactivity, no community management, no customer service, no or slow response) - Much Worse a lot of sites worldwide and regionally are still using Adobe/ Macromedia Flash in intros, navigation or sometimes the whole site too!! FLASH IS DEAD !!! And it will take your site with it to the grave.
At ViaWeb we will help you define or redefine the purpose of your website.
